I was selected to manage the 1997 Cape Fear Dixie Fast Pitch Softball Angels All-star Team, which was made up of 7-9 year old girls. My daughter, Lauren, was selected to this team, & was the starting short stop, with a .500 batting average for the tournament. The only teams that could beat them in tournament play were made up almost entirely of 10 year olds. In spite of this they finished Third in the State.

This Team was the best 9 & under Dixie Fast Pitch Team In the State Of North Carolina.

The kickoff of the Combined Wage Campaign in the Wilmington Local Office was a great success. The campaign coordinator, Cathy Sherrill, was assisted by many of the staff members by providing a delicious breakfast after the presentation by the SECC Manager, Christy Earnhardt. The campaign will continue until November 1, 1997.
